I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. Merry Christmas Part 2

Merry Christmas to all my friends and followers.  Hope you have a wonderful holiday.  Stay safe and remember Jesus is the Reason for the Season.  You all have a special place in my heart.  Looking forward to visiting with you in the New Year.

Leaving you today with more photos of the home place.  Too soon all the Christmas decorations will be packed away for another year. Lots of photos. Hope you enjoy visiting with us this Christmas.

Remember the old stroller?  It was a surprise Christmas gift from Mr. P. last year.

Look closely at the old photo displayed on the tray.  It is a picture of Mr. P. as a baby in a stroller just like this one.  Priceless!

Merry Christmas from Mr.P. and myself.  No white Christmas for us here in Georgia.  We are now under a tornado watch.  UGH!!  Anyone want to send cold weather and snow our way, we will gladly accept. {smile}

Until next time.

From My Kitchen To Yours.....Part 1 Home Tour

Good evening friends. Hope this finds all of you doing well and ready for Christmas.  It is almost upon us and I have so enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the holidays.  I have one more gift to purchase and I am ready to sit back and enjoy.  Well,,,, to be honest I have already been enjoying the lights, coziness, and comfort of our humble abode.

So even though tonight is date night, I chose to stay home and visit with you.  I even cooked our supper.  Sure hope Santa remembers how good I am to him and rewards me in a few days. {smile} After surprising me with a little trip last week on date night, thought I would be nice and snuggle in this week.

So being that time is going by so fast, and it won't be possible to have each of you over personally, thought the next best thing would be to visit with me through cyber space.  Everyone comes around back so just get on out and come in through the carport.

I'll open the door for you.  All our good friends enter through the back.  And we all have been friends for quite some time now.  You are all special to me.

You all have followed along as we are in the middle of remodeling the kitchen.  Things are on hold until after the holidays,,,,,BUT,,,, Mr. P. has nine days off.  Oh my, couldn't we accomplish a lot in those off days?  We will just have to wait and see.  But as of now, counters are done, back splash done, new hardware done, and new swags are hung.  We have plans to re do the soffits and refinish the cabinets.  But,, I just couldn't wait that long to have you visit.  It is what it is.

A few days ago we had our annual Girls Day and the old grain bin looked like this.

Will share more photos on that wonderful party at the end of this post.

The eat in part of the kitchen has all the old wallpaper that has to come off.  Anyone want to offer to come and help strip??  I will feed you. LOL.

Remember before we turned the sun room into my dining room, the china cabinet
and oak dining table was here.  When we moved it, Mr. P. made me this little farm table and I brought my old hoosier cabinet back in that I had in the barn.

Love the way it looks in the evening.  So cozy.

I am so enjoying the fireplace mantle he made me last year at this time when I was so sick.  A favorite of mine with fond memories.

Well I hope you have enjoyed visiting with me in the kitchen.  On Wednesday all us crazies got together for our annual Christmas Lunch.  This year we went to a local restaurant for lunch.  We were so blessed to have a new friend join us this year. You met Lynn in a previous post.

After a delicious lunch most of the girls came back here for dessert and a fun afternoon.  We exchanged gifts, ate, and ate some more.  Isn't it just wonderful to have such good friends who seem closer than family?

But before we say goodnight, I have to show you another visitor we had on party day.  Darbee Rae and I walked in the kitchen and look who was helping himself to the food.

Yes,, Wilbur had opened the chips, grabbed a cookie and was making himself right at home.  BUT,,, oh the difference a few days can make.  I got a call this morning and one little girl has decided elves are stuffed animals and can not fly.  Oh sometime kids just grow up too fast.  But this Nana assured her Wilbur will be around for a long time.  And I bet he will still be up to his mischief.

Have a great weekend folks.  Enjoy the season. Stay safe out,, everyone rushing around can be dangerous.  Hugs to you all and
Until next time...

Busy in a Fun kind of Way

Good morning friends.  Hoping this morning finds you with a hot cup of drink of your choice, a comfy spot to sit and a smile upon your face!!!  Why not?  You are up and have a beautiful day to look forward to.

Since we talked this Nana has been one more busy lady.  Unlike so many of you who are trying so hard to get orders finished, doing your last of the season shows, and making gifts for a special some one on your list,,,,I have been busy doing things that are fun and not always things I should be getting done.

Our kitchen is on hold now until after the holidays, { I think  }. The counter tops are finished, the sink in and the bead board back splash is done.  We still have to re do the soffit and then strip wallpaper on the other side where we have most of our meals,, just the two of us. But for now I am pleased.

I have been busy yet again baking and getting my sweets ready for more entertaining and for our Christmas holidays.

The coconut cake is in the freezer. They are always so much more moist to me once frozen for a couple of weeks.  Could be just because that is the way my Grandmother always did.  BUT;;;

The caramel one,,, we couldn't resist.  I am so sorry, I should have offered you a slice.  There is still a little bit left and you are welcome to it if you like.  Thank you Betty Crowe.  I could just eat all the icing and leave the cake.

I tried two new recipes this past week and both are keepers.  This one dish meal was so good and you have everything you need in one dish.  This was before going into the oven.  Forgot to take a picture afterward.

This was a buffalo chicken garbage bread and delicious. Even Mr.P, ask for this again and so easy.

Don't you just love pinterest. So many good recipes and so little time.  Do you love trying new recipes?

When we last talked, we were having Mr. P's family over for food and fun.  It went great.  We had 15 folks scattered throughout the house.  First time ever, we have had all of them over together for the holiday and we have been married 41 years/  I know, that is a shame.  We do all get together for Christmas but always at his brother's house since his Mom is in the nursing home.  We will still be doing that soon.

On Friday, I was so blessed to go with Holly and Darbee Rae and another friend of Holly's and her daughter to see Madeline's Christmas .  We had reservations through the Home School Group. It was such a cute play and the actors were amazing.

I am such a lucky Nana for them to want me to tag along, and to be able to go and enjoy things this year.   We had lunch at a new place we had never visited before.  Don't you just love doing that?  It was delicious and such a neat place.  It was called The Boxcar Café.

While we were having lunch Mr. P. called and just kidding I ask could we take a weekend trip?  He just said hmmmmm,,, we will talk about it when you get home.  So,,, what is an outing with out a little shopping.  We found the neatest little shop and picked up a few Christmas gifts.  This phone booth was on display and the girls had never seen one.  Darbee Rae thought it was so cool.

It was such a fun outing, however my day was no where near over. I arrived home around 4 o'clock  and Mr. P was out blowing leaves from the lawn.  I went inside and almost passed out.  He had the luggage on the bed and had his clothes packed for a weekend trip already.  Now this man never packs his clothing for a trip.  I was tickled pink.  I hurriedly packed my items and we were on our way.  Leaving late in the afternoon and driving for 5 hours for our destination is so not Mr.P.  I was truly like a little girl at Christmas.

We had a wonderful weekend of shopping and just being!!!Did I buy lots of Christmas gifts?  Ugh, NO.  Just couldn't find much for those on my list, however found a few things for myself!! Do you ever do that?  So,,,, I still have a little shopping to do for family.

I have wanted one of the replica scale clocks for awhile.  This trip I broke down and purchased one.  Had the perfect spot for it.  I came in and decorated it but even since I took the picture, I have changed it some.
\\
We love the Comedy Barn shows when we are visiting.  However we have never gone to the church service they offer there on Sunday Morning. They call it Cowboy Church.  We decided to go this trip.  I have to say it was such a wonderful experience.  And on this Sunday there was Christmas music and the sermon was the Christmas Story.  So glad we took the time to attend and will go back when we are there on Sunday.

Our last stop on our trip was a prim shop in Lenoir City, TN. called Country Primfolk.  Such a neat place.  They have a little café inside and we had lunch there.  The décor is so prim and the food was delicious.

All of the light fixtures were old pots and such.

The backs of the booths were made from old doors.  Don't you just love it?

I have to say it was a busy weekend but oh so much fun. However now just a memory as I sit and type , supper is on, the laundry is getting done and I have another busy "fun" week to look forward to.

And by the way Wilbur our elf is back.  He was late coming this year and I will share later what he has been up to.

Well I have really enjoyed you visiting with me today.. Hope I haven't bored you to much.  Wishing all of you a wonderful week ahead.  Let's not get to busy nor have too much fun not to remember the Reason for the Season, and for those who have things going on in their lives during this season.  We have a wonderful friend who is very sick.  Please remember him and his wife in your prayers.

Well enough said this visit.  Will talk with you soon.  Until next time.........
