About Me

My photo
I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

Visitors in the Guest Room

Well July just seemed to disappear and already we are coming to the end of the first week of August.  July was such a busy month, beginning with the 4th celebrations.  Then our anniversary and the surprise trip to TN, that the mister surprised me with.  There was a week spent at the pool with the girls, {a treat for myself} and a trip to the city for Holly to attend the Southeast Homeschool Expo. Going into the city is always a fun trip for me because I don't drive downtown Atla. We had a great time and we had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.  I had never eaten there so it was a fun experience. The restaurant was beautiful.  Loved the painting on the ceiling.

Spending time with these girls and you never know what to expect.  Always a good day.

As most of you, I find myself asking the question where has summer gone?  Although the calendar has turned over a new page and fall is creeping up on us, here in the south we have a few more months of hot summer days to enjoy .  Maybe I should say for the Mister to enjoy.  I so love cooler fall weather and even winter days.

The last week or so, the humidity has been much lower, and I have enjoyed my morning coffee out on the deck.

Love this basket of flowers.  Mr. P. is so good with plants.  Me,,,,, we won't go there.

Before we meet the visitors in the guest room, I will share another unexpected guest that showed up in my great room.

Do you want to take a guess as to what is hidden under the bowl ?   No, thank goodness it is not a snake,,, but a  lizard!!!  Almost as bad.  I hate those things.  Of course Mr. P. was at work, and this was all I knew to do to confine it until he came home.  Ugh,,, snakes, spiders, lizards, bugs, all are on my do not like list!!!

Okay, as you know we do our only craft show Labor Day weekend.  It is a 3 day show and I have worked on my goodies all year.  It has been nice to have items made in advance, however as the date comes closer I work harder than ever to get more things made.  This is where I spend most of my days.

I have quite a few new patterns from various artists to make this year and I have to say it has been fun.  Our guest room is right across the hall from my craft room,,, so it has many visitors hanging out until time for the show.  The witches and cats are trying to rule the room.

The Jacks are trying to look just as scary as to put their claim on their space on the bed. {giggle}

The scarecrows decided it wasn't worth the fight , so they just found a crate and decided to wait it out.  As did the pumpkin men, candy corn, and many other fall items.

However Santa Claus feels his importance and demanded to be seen in the dormer window.  He has many twin Santa's. {hehe}.  Don't they look like they feel important?

Snowmen are everywhere.  Some decided to hide as they don't want the sun shining in from the window to just melt them away.   But a few got brave and decided to show their faces.

But this little snowman stole my heart when I found this pattern.  I made one and then just couldn't stop.

The little fella went to sleep waiting on Santa.  And he sits on an old quilt square.  He has lots of brothers waiting for a new home.

They will take their blankets and find new homes Labor Day Weekend. Sorry these pictures are not so good but took them with my phone.  All my items are grunged and look lots darker than the pictures show.

I have so enjoyed visiting with you this evening.  I hope all of you are enjoying summer.  If you have children, or grandchildren, or just friends  starting school, lets all join together in a prayer that God will keep them and their educators safe this school year.

Until next time....
