I have many times invited you to sit on the porch with me, and this week has been a perfect week to have coffee out there in the morning. We even broke a low temp. for a morning low one day this week. So early in the morning this is where you could find me.
Yes, life is good. Sitting in the swing and watching the hummingbirds at the feeder and the squirrels playing in the yard. Enjoying God's Beautiful World. But eventually I had to go inside and get busy. Mr. P's tomatoes are coming in great, so I made homemade salsa this week. Great eating in the winter.
I have also begun crafting upstairs in the craft room. Yes, September and our annual craft show will be here way before I am ready. And that brings me to my topic for the day. We have chatted on the porch, the sunroom, and you have toured the other rooms in the house,. I have always been hesitant to invite you into the craft room. All you crafters know sometime we need a sign on the door that says, "Enter at your own Risk" My craft room gets quite messy when I am working for my show, so,,, before I get in there in full swing, thought I would share it with you. Now, don't get excited, it's not a room that would be worthy of a magazine, however I am so thankful to have a place I can craft and close the door when it gets too messy.
This is the view from the doorway. The small double doors hide the sewing machine. The cabinet above holds my cross stitch materials and felt. The bottom cabinet hides a filing cabinet. My dear Mr. P. made all the cabinets for me and turned this spare bedroom into my craft room.
Continuing on the same wall, this is a tiny workspace
And the cabinet above this area, holds my patterns. I have them in notebooks and sorted according to the season ,etc.
My paint rack is way too small. {hehe} I have got to go through and weed out all the old paint. Need more room, eh?
Can you tell the sun was shining when I snapped these pictures. This old peddle machine is what I learned to sew on. It was my great grandmothers.
Mr. P. made my table, and this my friends is where I do my crafting.
These old lockers from a work place are wonderful for storage. Lots of supplies hid away in them,
And hid in this cabinet is my ironing board.
You met Miss Maggie ages ago, but today she is dressed in my work aprons. She keeps me company while I work the day away. The white door to the right hides my walk in closet where I store my materials and such.
Just to prove to you I don't waste my day away on the porch here are some WIP that I have to finish for the show. Lots of stitcheries waiting to be framed.
Just finished this cute "Witch Upon A Star ". It's a pattern by Sagebrush and Sassafras. Got the spindles painted to make more of these. Loved how she turned out.
Pumpkin men are waiting for heads so they can be assembled.
Ghost are ready and waiting for a new home. This pattern is by Sassafras Hill Primitives.
Well I hope you have enjoyed visiting with me in the craft room today. Sure was nice to have you stop by.
Do something this weekend to make you smile,,, and don't forget to stop back by soon and we will visit again. Hugs and smiles until next time........
