Ready Or Not.....The Time Has Come

Well Hello to all my prim pals.  Still remember me?? For the last few weeks I have had no news to share, no neat places I have visited, or any great finds to share with you.  Why??? Because I have been glued to my chair in the craft room and downstairs at the kitchen table getting ready for the big 3 day show we do this weekend.

Did I say this weekend??   Whew!  It is here already and what is done is done.  Mr. P. loaded the truck and trailer 2 times today and hauled up to our booth.  What did I do??  I sat and FINISHED up all my items for the booth.  As of 6 o'clock this afternoon, I am DONE.   Such a wonderful feeling. Holly and Darbee Rae have been such good helpers this year.  They helped the mister put up the tent.

Think Papa was a brave soul to have his fingers so close!  Darbee worked so hard.  Loved that she had to wear a cap like Papa's.  She wasn't  too happy when Papa took his off because he was so hot!

We were blessed with the weather today as well.  With Issac hitting the gulf,, we were to get heavy rains.  Luckily we only had a shower this morning early.  Hoping that will be the forcast for the weekend, just scattered showers if any.

I have really missed visiting with all of you..  Can't wait for things to get back to normal.  But it will be awhile yet.  Mr. P has the next 2 weeks off from work and I am so excited to have some time to spend with my hubby.  Hoping all of you have something exciting planned for the holiday weekend.  Take care and be safe.

Will be back soon with results from the craft show.
Until then....

Dropping In To Say Hello And A Recipe for You

Good evening dear friends.  I have been missing chatting with all of you so much, but have been so busy up in the craft room for the last few weeks.  Exactly one week from today we will begin our set up for our big 3 day Labor Day Show.  Hmmmm, since I have goofed off most of the Spring and Summer I am in a crunch to get everything done on time.  I am sure none of  you ever find yourself in a situation like this in the fall, huh???

Even though I have been busy,, I do have a cake baked and will share the recipe for it if you would like at the end of this post.  So get you a plate and I will fix you something to drink.  Would you like coffee or a soda. ? Comfy,,,, well let me tell you about my day.

Well today I had two really good helpers.  Holly and Darbee Rae brought me lunch and spent the afternoon lending a much needed helping hand.  I brought work to the kitchen area because we had more room and I was staining and doing several things all at once.

Holly got busy putting toppers on the wax tarts/pantry cakes we made last week.

Darbee was great stamping on the price .

Think they turned out really cute.  One item done, on to the next project....

Okay, all my dear friends who have those big beautiful farms, please save all your laughter until I give you an update on the sales of this next project after our show.

Psst..... don't tell Darbee Rae, but see her matchbox cars she had to bring on the carport to watch her work?? Yep, there is a little tomboy in my girlee girl.... And see all that hay?  Well!!!.....

..

It was packaged up in gallon size bags and then ......

Cute toppers were added.  Don't ya think it will make for a great bowl filler for scarecrows, pumpkins and other fall goodies?

Since there are no farms close by , and lots of folks don't want to buy a whole bale of hay,,, thought this might be a good idea.  Yea,,, hope it sells like crazy and  I will be the one laughing AFTER the show like Mr. P. is laughing at us NOW.

We got some painting done, lots of items stuffed, a couple of Santas almost finished and tonight I am tired.  Thanks so much Holly and Darbee Rae for your help.

Before I leave you , I thought I would share the cake recipe with you.  Last week, I was invited to a friend's house and she had made this cake.  It was so moist and delicious.  She shared the recipe with me and I couldn't wait to make it for the Mister.  It is so simple and reminds me of a coffee cake. Great with coffee.

Just a few simple ingredients.

Southern Praline Pecan Cake

1 box Butter Pecan Cake Mix
1  container Coconut Pecan Frosting
4 eggs beaten
3/4 cup oil
1 cup water
1 cup chopped pecans {optional}*

Combine ALL ingredients into large bowl,  Mix until well blended.  Pour into lightly greased bundt pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 50 -55 minutes or until tester come out clean,.

* if using pecans, stir in half of them into cake mixture and sprinkle remaining half into the bundt pan.

I added a powdered sugar glaze to mine to make it pretty, Hope you enjoy the recipe,.

Well, guess I better stop chatting and get back to stuffing.  Would you like to come help?  Wouldn't that be fun?  We could eat and chat all we wanted.  Hoping you are not feeling overwhelmed with pumpkins, scarecrows, witches, and spooks tonight,.   I might have those feelings, but as I look around Santas are staring back at me, ornaments of all kind are laying all about,,, my Patriotic decor is still out,,,,, Can you help me,,, just what season is it????

Hope your day has been a good one and tonight celebrate  life, family and friends,.
Until next time..

While You Were Out Shopping, Junkin' or Just Resting

There was some serious work going on here at the homeplace this Saturday.  Yes it is only 3 weeks until our big craft show , so today was a work day  even though it was the weekend.  Holly and Darbee Rae came early in their work clothes to help me and the mister work on a few projects.

We wasted no time getting started.  The kitchen was turned into a work station.  Here are pictures of the table.

Yes, I know you could all guess what we were going to be doing, huh??   I had a great helper this morning.  Darbee couldn't wait to help in any way she could.  So what did I do?   Cover everything close to where she was going to be working in plastic. {smile}

She became a pro at playing working with the cinnamon.  She rolled all the candles after Holly dipped them.   You see I protected my coffee machine, huh?  Couldn't do with something happening to that.!!

Want to see the finished results ?  You know we couldn't just make grungy candles , right ?  We made some Prim Lighting Ornaments for the Christmas tree!! Don't you think my little helper did a great job rolling them in the mixture??

All that is left to do is put the prim tag and price them.  I think we ended up with
3 dozen.  Of course Holly and I have to have some for our tree this year also.

Then we tried our luck with some pantry cakes made from wax.  We had ordered the black dye from the internet and we were thrilled with the results. From this.....

To this!!

Waiting on these to cure a little before packaging them up for the show.  We will be doing some larger ones like these later.

After all this Holly and I were tired but Darbee Rae,,,,, well she was just getting started.  She helped Papa drill holes in another project waiting on me next week.

And then off she went outside to help Papa work on his big project of the day,.

This is a trellis  Mr. P. made from old ladders.  Darbee is helping him put a waterproof sealant  on it.  Don't you just love her "shop shirt ?" It's an old one of Papa's and she has to wear it everytime she goes in the shop.  After all,, those" girly" clothes don't need to get dirty.    Papa says tonight the trellis will last forever.  She sure knew how to waste  apply the stain. {giggle}

So today there were lots of projects completed here at the homeplace.  A big thank you to Holly and Darbee Rae for all your help.

Tonight as you visit , I am so sorry there is not cake or a pie to go along with the coffee.  But this Nana and Papa are two tired folks.   Did I tell you how thankful I am to have help today?  But we are never to tired for you to stop in and say hello.

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday and will have a blessed Sunday.  Please  leave a comment so I will know you stopped by.

Until next time........

WooHoo I Am Back!!!!!

Good evening everyone.  I am so happy and excited tonight.  Mr. P. felt so sorry for me this week being without my computer so today Holly and I got to go computer shopping.  And I am so happy to say I have a brand new laptop.  She and Darbee Rae came home with me and helped to set it up.  I am so thankful to be able to visit with you all again.

Athough I have been slow in creating for our show Mr. P . has been busy in the woodshop.  He built this farm table a while back  but this picture does not do it justice.

This is a bookcase he made from an old door.  These always sell right away.

I can't show too much I have finished.  So I will share with you what my craft room looks like.

This is  one of the  piles of pumpkins waiting  for me to finish

One day soon, I hope these will be cute horse ornaments and ice skates.  Oh my goodness,, Lord please help me to get motivated and in a  HURRY.

One evening last week, Darbee Rae called and ask what I was doing.  I told her I was doing my nails and she had to come and give me a pedicure.  She said I had promised she could do my toes.  Well  what does a good Nana do????

What do you think?  Yea, I looked like I was bleeding.  But you know what?  We had a fun evening
and memories were made.  She left one happy little girl that she had made Nana "pretty".  Can you guess what I did before bed?

Well I guess that's about it for tonight.  Can't wait to get all caught up with you .  Know what I will bwe doing tomorrow.  Oh, I know I need to be in the craft room,,,,, maybe Monday.  Have a great weekend.  Until next time.

What Have I Done?????

Hello all my friends.  Just a quick post to let you all know there are sad days here at the homeplace.  My laptop has gone to cyber heaven and I am in mourning. (ha)  So I am trying to learn more about my tablet. I can visit and comment on your blogs but this is my first attempt to do a blog post.  Hopefully it will work.

We do a huge 3 day craft show  in Sept. on labor day weekend.  Last year I was so ready, worked all through the year, but this year I just could not get motivated. So with only 4 weeks before the show  I am asking myself,"why did I do this???

I have piles of work to finish.

Holly and Darbee Rae came today and brought lunch. Darbee brought her craft bag and got busy working too.

Well guess that's about it for now.  Hopefully I will get a new computer soon.  Until next time.
