We wasted no time getting started. The kitchen was turned into a work station. Here are pictures of the table.
Yes, I know you could all guess what we were going to be doing, huh?? I had a great helper this morning. Darbee couldn't wait to help in any way she could. So what did I do? Cover everything close to where she was going to be working in plastic. {smile}
She became a pro at playing working with the cinnamon. She rolled all the candles after Holly dipped them. You see I protected my coffee machine, huh? Couldn't do with something happening to that.!!
Want to see the finished results ? You know we couldn't just make grungy candles , right ? We made some Prim Lighting Ornaments for the Christmas tree!! Don't you think my little helper did a great job rolling them in the mixture??
All that is left to do is put the prim tag and price them. I think we ended up with
3 dozen. Of course Holly and I have to have some for our tree this year also.
Then we tried our luck with some pantry cakes made from wax. We had ordered the black dye from the internet and we were thrilled with the results. From this.....
To this!!
Waiting on these to cure a little before packaging them up for the show. We will be doing some larger ones like these later.
After all this Holly and I were tired but Darbee Rae,,,,, well she was just getting started. She helped Papa drill holes in another project waiting on me next week.
And then off she went outside to help Papa work on his big project of the day,.
This is a trellis Mr. P. made from old ladders. Darbee is helping him put a waterproof sealant on it. Don't you just love her "shop shirt ?" It's an old one of Papa's and she has to wear it everytime she goes in the shop. After all,, those" girly" clothes don't need to get dirty. Papa says tonight the trellis will last forever. She sure knew how to waste apply the stain. {giggle}
So today there were lots of projects completed here at the homeplace. A big thank you to Holly and Darbee Rae for all your help.
Tonight as you visit , I am so sorry there is not cake or a pie to go along with the coffee. But this Nana and Papa are two tired folks. Did I tell you how thankful I am to have help today? But we are never to tired for you to stop in and say hello.
Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday and will have a blessed Sunday. Please leave a comment so I will know you stopped by.
Until next time........
We had so much fun today and I love my goodies I brought home with me. Love you both very much. So thankful for the memories made-especially for Darbee. She will always cherish these special times.

Love those grungy candles...:)) Seeing Darbee working so diligently with her Papa reminds me when my son was her age so many years ago... I love seeing an Adult showing a child with hands on and allowing them to help with the project! Darbee will remember these precious times with you and Papa forever:)) I must ask, what is the Ladder Trellis for? K
