.
Hello friends. Hope you are all enjoying a great weekend. I would be having a great time if I was a duck!! We have had so much rain this past week. On one day we got over 5 inches. I am so thankful we do not live in a flood area. Even the "sun"room looks so dark and dreary.
This photo was taken in the middle of the day. Normally it is so bright and cheery. Looks like dead of winter , huh? Well thanks to the rain, Mr. P. brought some sun inside to me this morning to help brighten up the room.
Beautiful sunflowers will brighten a rainy day!
Thanks to the rain,. Mr. P's garden is growing so good. We are having squash, tomatoes, onions, and peppers to enjoy. This is the making of cucumber salad. Holly and Darbee Rae came out to spend the day on the day before July 4th. Talked Holly into making some for us to have with crackers while I worked on crafts. Yummy!!!
Darbee Rae never comes to visit empty handed. But on this day, she brought 10 of her favorite babies.
She loves her babies!! And she can keep up with each of their names. She was so excited to stay until Papa got home from work. They went to the workshop and because it was raining and they could not play outside, she turned the shop into a restaurant. She was so excited to show us the pie she made with dirt, and sawdust!!
Love those rain boots!!!
Our July 4th celebrations were all canceled because of the weather. Holly and Stacy always have a party and we all watch the fireworks from their lawn as they live right down the street from the high school where they shoot them off. We were all disappointed as it has become a tradition, So,,,, no grilling out for us, but we all gathered at Kathy's for homemade apple/peach pies and ice cream.
Kathy made the ice cream and her hubby's niece made the pies. So good to see such a young beautiful girl carrying on a tradition. Her grandmother made these pies and shared with us for years.
Thank you Christina and Kathy. It was delicious!!
I have been busy making items for the Sept. show. These Santas turned out so cute. They are grunged really good but took picture with my tablet and they show up really light. They were hard to make, but love the results.
I try and make 12 or 18 of each ornament and I get so tired of making the same thing over and over. Those of you who sell wholesale, do you have any tips to keep it from getting so boring ??
Well I guess that is all from me on this yet another Rainy Day in Georgia. Hope you are having a great weekend . Stay safe. Until next time.
Thinking of doing a blog gathering the weekend of our Harvest At The Mill show, sure wish you could come up! I already have blocks of rooms discounted!
ReplyDeleteWish I could say that I had some great tips for making multiples of the same thing over and over, but I don't. Some patterns are easier for me to make several of them and others...well, they just drives me crazy when I have to make several of them.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great weekend.
hugs,
Cindy
Hi Angela! I LOVE your sunroom! Even w/o sun LOL. What are you feeding Darbee Rae, she has sure grown - so sweet with her baby dolls. Love your santas, I am making winter items now too. We are waiting for rain here - so dry. Enjoy the upcoming week ~*~Lisa
ReplyDeleteI guess all the sun was up in the NY/NJ area this past weekend! We were being scorched while trying to stay outside for picnics!! VERY HOT!!
ReplyDeleteDarbee Rae reminds me of myself.... I, too, loved my dolls! I had to sleep with every one I owned, so they were lined up and down the bed every night. :) She just as cute as can be!
Wish I had some advice on crafting multiple things, but I only do cross stitch and I could never do more than one of each pattern!!
Hope you have a great week ahead!
Penny
Hi Angela,
ReplyDeleteI too, hate to make alot of one item. Even cutting out, I get bored with the fabric!!! Unless, I get an order for alot, then that doesn't bother me...I know they're sold!!! lol
Darbee's getting so big....well so is Monica!!! I swear every time we see her, she's grown another foot!!!!
We get showers everyday and never know when to expect them!!! We were over east in Pa and then NY over the 4th and sure was hot up there!!!! Could have used your rain!!!
Take care
Lois
Well if if helps soothe your pain, it has been the same weather here. The only thing I have been under the weather and it didn't matter to me. Can't even have my coffee. I like your sun room with or without sun. Wish I had one. Love the pix of Darbee reading to her doll. Love that girl. Fried pies are our favorite thing. Especially Clay and I. We drive to PF to the Apple Barn for them. I haven't made any in a long while. I do have some dried apples. Hmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteSend some rain here please!!! It's so hot and dry. My flowers are all but dead and my garden is still just to my calves. We are on restricted water usage so my grass is drying up too:( Sorry about the 4th July celebrations being canceled. Darbee's dolls are amazing. My 8 year old is that way with stuffed animals. She know each one by name and remembers where each one came from. No way to get rid of the either. The dessert looks yummy. -Steph-
