About Me

My photo
I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

Where Has TIme Gone?

Good evening everyone.  It is hard to believe it has been so  long since I posted. Where does time go?  Is it just me or does it seem to just pass by so quickly?  Could my age have something to do with it? I AM NOT THAT OLD! (lol)  And then there was the deal with blogger down.  I sure did miss checking in with all of you.  Found out just how much I love blogging. But back to my time..........

I get up in the morning with a list sooo long knowing if the phone rings that list will go in the trash and off I go doing whatever with whoever. And at the end of the day, I am tired and disgusted because I got nothing done on my list.   So today guess what?  There will be no more list UNLESS it is a shopping list. After all these years I am giving it up. I have come to realize I am old enough to do what I want when I want to and if it don't get done,,  so be it.  Oh well enough on that.  We'll see how long my new outlook on list holds out.

Got up this morning and went to visit Mother in the nursing home.  She was actually alert today and talked a little more and smiled lots.  Sure does make the start to the day so much brighter.  But the conversations one has with a 90 year old.  Of course she wears depends, and doesn't hesitate to tell you when she uses them.  But she told us today she just wet the sweetest easy wet! Just a precious one.  Couldn't help but laugh and today she laughed with us.  Darbee Rae thought she had lost her mind,,,, well most days bless her heart,,, she has, but not today.  I told her she was still pretty when she smiled and she told me she knew she was prettty. That is the Mother I have always known.  She always had a lot of pride and thinks highly of ONLY herself.  But today we all laughed together.  Thank you God for another visit with the mother I rarely see anymore.

Mr. P. has been busy working in the shop trying to get things made for the show in September.  But this weekend he did make a little something for me. Will share it with you tomorrow.  I will be using it to decorate with my patriotic decor and hope to start that tomorrow.  Not on a list... But maybe if the phone don't ring, and I don't find myself going somewhere.  Will try and post some pictures tomorrow night.  I have also managed to get a lot of things made in the craft room for the September show.  So much futher ahead than normal this time of the year.  Altho it's mostly fall items, will post some of those also.

But tonight I am leaving you with some pictures of Mr. P's beautiful roses.  Yep, I walked out in the yard to take a few pictures.  You know I don't like outside, dirt and bugs.  But, these looks so pretty out the kitchen window,  I wanted to share.  This first picture is special.  I don't know the real name of the rose bush, but my grandmother called it "Seven Sisters" because of all the cluster of little roses.  If any of you know different  please let me know.  Mr. P got the cutting from the old homeplace before it sold.  I think of my grandmother everytime I see it in bloom.

The color looks pink here but it is actually a deep red. The next is a long stem rose bush.  Love these in the house.  They smell wonderful.

This one will be my very favorite . Love the peachy color.  Can't wait for it to open

We only have a small garden this year.  Our turnip greens are gone now, all mine are in the freezer and soon there will be sweet potatoes planted in their place. Snapped a picture of the tomatoes. With all this wierd weather the garden is slowly  progressing. It's suppose to be in the low 40's tonight. And even tho so many of you have had so much rain, here we could use several days of a slow steady rain.

Maybe  I haven't bored you with a regular day in my life.  Hoping you will take the TIME to come back by tomorrow and visit again.  I enjoy your visits and your comments.  Until tomorrow...

  1. Hi Angela, I love your roses. I used to have some but one hard winter they died. I agree 100% we are old enough to do what we want! I am a list maker too. I love marking things off, but if something better comes along, I am out of here!
    Have a great week,
    betty

  4. I'm just waiting for my old fashioned climbing rose to bloom. This was a volunteer the birds left me a few years back. I have to move it once Bob builds me a trellis, cause it is getting to big near our front porch and we keep getting pricked when we go outside. LOL. Love Mr P's roses and glad you had a real moment with your mom. Take care, Janice PS vacation is doing great..already found some goodies & Bob thinks I am now obsessed with blogging, but I am just reading this morning. Big smile.

  7. Your roses are beautiful!
I know what you mean about a list. I stopped a long time ago too cause it will get done when it gets done. My only list now is to the grocery store and sometimes I forget that!
    Enjoyed your story.
