On our way we did a little detour and visited Historic Bell Buckle, TN. It is home to the annual "Moon Pie Festival" that is held there every year in June. We have also been there for the festival once, and let me tell you folks come from everywhere for the festivities. There are many antique malls, specialty shops, cafe, ice cream parlor and home to the famous Phillips General Store and Antiques. But my favorite shop to visit was formally The Doodlebug, now with is new name " Froggie Went A Shoppin". Don't ya just love that name?
I had a wonderful time in there and stayed forever. So much to look at. And don't ask the Mister how much I spent. I think he is still in shock. Hey, he was the driver and took me there. TeeHee,,, when will men learn? If ya don't want a woman to spend money,,, then don't take her to a wonderful prim shop. Anyway Sandy was so nice and helpful. I really enjoy visiting with her as well as shopping. Don't ya just love going in a shop where the shop keeper is nice and friendly? Well, if you are ever in the area you just have to drop by. She was also kind enough to let me take photos to share with all my friends on the blog. So here you go. Come drool with me.
Don't ya just love those sweater pillows and that furniture,, well it begged to go home with me. But the mister wouldn't hear of it.
I so loved this display. Yes, there was tidbits of Spring and Easter beginning to show up in the shop. I think with the warm weather everyone is ready to do some spring decorating. I just couldn't help myself and purchased a few Spring decorations. Now,,,, came home to snowmen still waiting on a few flakes of snow. Now you see why I loved shopping at the "Froggie Went A Shoppin" .
Okay,,, we were actually on our way to visit with my long time friend. Dimple and I were introduced years ago by a wonderful lady whom we both loved very much. It wasn't until after this lady passed away that we became close friends. Our kids started kindergarten together and we were always together as families several weekend during the month. Her son and Holly grew up much like brother and sister. And then....... they moved back to TN. because of her hubby's job and to be close to their families. That was back in junior high for our kids. They are both close to 30 years old now. Since then we have reamained friends and tried to visit several times a year. But,,, last year with mother's illness and just life in general we did not get to visit often. They were here a year ago this month. So it liked a few weeks being a year since we had seen each other. Those of you who are fortunate to have a faraway friend know how much fun it is to visit
and catch up and do some prim shopping together. And that is what we did. Dimple was kind enough to let me take pictures of some of her prim goodies. Yes, as you will see it is like visiting another prim shop. Hope you enjoy seeing all her goodies. Just sit back and take a look. These were taken in the kitchen
Laundry Room
Are you enjoying the tour? She has a big house and I have lots more eye candy for you but will show you more on the next post. Got to get supper on the table for the mister. I had a fun day at home tweaking a few things and hunting a new home for some of my goodies. Hope you have all had a good Monday. Take care until we visit next time.

ReplyDeleteHi Angela,
ReplyDeleteSounds and looks like you had a great time. Can wait to see more pictures.
Your post makes me miss my dear friend...we have been friends since we were 10 years old. She visits me everytime they come home for a visit and we have traveled over the years to Texas and Colorado to visit them. Her hubby's job has recently moved them to Flordia and we are planning a trip to go see them.
Hmmmm...wonder how many prim shops are between here and there?
hugs,
Cindy
I can see why you spent so much time and funds in that Froggie Shop, what fun!! Not a better way to send those February Blah's on their way, visiting dear friends is the best. Did you shop at your friends house as well?

Welcome home, Angela...! What awesome treasures in your found store and your dear friend's home. They both look as thought you could spend hours in each and never tire. I loved the spring/summer display! That bench with the white fence behind it, I love the look! Enjoy your time back home....Hugs

Oh you big tease! Can't wait to see what you brought home with you. I was in Phillips General Store once, but would love to go back to that sweet little town. Don't you just love the "quilt" street? My best friend moved to TN too and we only get to see each other about once a year. Spring is sneaking into our shop too - I'm more than ready! Have a great week, Dawn
ReplyDeleteLove the shop & love what I've seen thus far of your friend's home! What a wonderful road trip! Bell Buckle is indeed a great town. John LOVES Tennessee & would move back there in a heartbeat. I must agree that the nicest people live in Tennessee but alas, not much in the way of snow. However, sometimes I think I ought to give John a treat & move back there. Something to think about : ) Blessings, Shirlee
ReplyDeleteThe shop looks AMAZING!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can see you had a wonderful road trip!
We go to Tennessee every summer and we are moving there in the mountains when my husband retires in 7 yrs.
We can't wait to move there and live a simple life!!!!
Tennessee is breath taking!

Tricia
