About Me

My photo
I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

Stop On In And Let's Catch Up

Good Saturday afternoon friends.  Hoping you have had a wonderful weekend thus far.  I am sure some of you are happy to have a long 3 day weekend as Monday is a holiday for most.  Not here at the home place.  Mr. P. has to work, but that's okay.  No plans on my part.

This has been a fun week for me.  I have spent some part of every day with my girls.  So..... what have I done today?  Tried to catch up on a little housework, laundry, and have been "playing and tweaking" just a little.  Do you really know what I have done most of my day?  On a desperate search for something I have misplaced.  Now I am sure none of you do this, huh?  Oh my what I would
give to be that organized.  Even got Mr. P. in on the search and although he says he saw the item that has disappeared, he doesn't remember where.  I know it will turn up and probably in the most unusual place.  Oh well.

All week long our weather forcast was predicting snow for Thursday.  Just flurries, no accumulations but for us as we never get much snow, reason to be excited.  Holly had made soup  the night before so she brought over leftovers after Darbee Rae got out of school, we called a friend to come for lunch and we were all on "Snowflake Watch"  Well, we never saw a single flake, but we had such a good time being together.  We still have a while before winter is over so maybe we will get lucky and see snow before Spring.

Mr. P has been busy in the wood shop doing things for me of course.  We have never just gone out and bought appliances because ours are old.  As long as they perform great, then we keep them.  But the top of my dryer was beginning to look bad.  I had made a cloth to go on it, but had a brainstorm one evening.  Told him exactly what I wanted and this is what I got.

I wish I had a big laundry room like some of you, but my washer and dryer are in a little space  in my hallway.  Notice he measured and left the opening for the lint trap, and I don't have to move the board to get to it.  Kinda smart., my fellow is, don't ya think?

Of course after I put all my goodies on it, some
things will have to be moved to clean the trap.  But that's my job and I really don't mind.  You know us girls like our pretties. {smile}

I wanted a little cupboard to sit on the vanity in the bathroom.  So....

Ta Da!!   I know , I am so blessed that he can make things for me.  Especially since there are no stores close by that sell such items.

A few days before Christmas we were out shopping and found a huge Goodwill in a town not too far away. I was thrilled to find this little piece with all these drawers.  Only thing , it was painted a pukey green.  But that didn't stop me from grabbing it up.  Brought it home and after the holiday Mr. P  along with Darbee Rae's help primmed it up just perfect for me.  Darbee has told everyone that she did this for Nana.

He painted it Mustard over Black.  I so love the way it turned out.  Each drawer is individual.  Haven't found a perfect spot for it yet.

Well I have enjoyed showing you all my goodies.  If you have been out shopping today and found some great finds, can't wait for you to share them with us.

So many of our blogging friends have had surgery, or facing surgery and or test.  So much sickness in blogland especially with the flu outbreak.  Please join me and keep all these friends in your prayer.

Wishing you and your family a blessed evening.  Until Next Time......

We haven't had much snow here in PA this winter, but that's OK by me. I hope Darbee gets to see some this winter...have a great week! Hugs..K
