This year has been so special to me already. As most of you know {and by the way, probably tired of hearing it by now} I had been unable to do much walking without a walker for the last few years. Just about this time last year, I began having major problems with my health. Thanks to God, prayers, and the knowledge of a great urologist , my problems were resolved. I can't stop thanking all of you , family, and friends for all of your prayers. Okay ,,, on with my story. Why this has already been a great fall.
On Thursday night, Mr. P. and I went along to our County Fair with Holly and her family. A first for me in more years than I could count. I felt as excited as Darbee Rae. I walked over the fair several times over, I got to watch Darbee Rae ride and play games all without any assistance. God is so good!! We also toured the exhibits and saw all the blue ribbons Darbee had won for her artwork. She was one proud little girl.
Today was another first for me. The girls had ask me to go on a long day trip to North Georgia Mts. to visit a Pumpkin Farm. What did I say? What time do we leave? And all the time giving thanks that this year I am able to tag along.
It was the neatest place. Pumpkins everywhere. All sizes, and colors.
These were blue!! I think they were my favorite. We all bought pumpkins, cider, pumpkin bread, and pumpkin rolls. Yum Yum!!
It was such a beautiful place. Perfect for picture taking. Darbee is a pro when it comes to having her pic. taken. She even changed into a different outfit.
We loved walking through the old covered bridge.
On the way to the pumpkin patch we saw acres of sunflowers. Another perfect place to take pictures. You paid by the car and could drive down to the fields and stay as long as you liked.
We could not end the day without a little shopping. Found a few neat goodies at a Goodwill store and had to stop in downtown Atlanta at Ikea.
This one Nana is totally pooped out and my sofa sure feels good this evening. But I can go to bed tonight with such wonderful memories of these last two days with my girls, and a very happy, thankful heart.
Don't forget no matter how small it may seem, we all have something to be thankful for.
Until next time.
Wow...look at all those pumpkins! Love the sunflowers. What a great place to take some photos! So glad that your health is better and you can get out with your girls.
