Exciting Week Here At The Home Place

Good evening friends.  Happy October to you!! Hoping you all had a perfect fall weekend where ever you call home.

October thus far has been an exciting one here.  On the fourth I was blessed to see another birthday.  You know this time last year I was extremely sick and yes there were days I didn't know what my future would hold.  Oh, this year was so different.  My day was spent at the only Craft Show close to our town.  It is a wonderful show, just no prims.  We {Mr.P., Holly, and Darbee Rae} shopped and walked and walked some more.  We found a few things, but nothing major.  After we left there we went to a tiny little Southern town nearby and had lunch at this little café

.  It was so neat and the food was good as well.  The little town didn't even have a traffic light.  But we did manage to find a store there to shop in as well.  I actually bought a few Christmas gifts.  Back home late in the evening after a great day, but yet looking forward to the following day.

On Sunday, our friends Dimple and Roger were to arrive to visit from TN.  I was so excited to have them come to visit.  We always enjoy our time together but it seems as we get older our visits are further and further apart.  Can you see why October has been great so far?  On Tuesday while they were here we met with our lunch buddies and there were 8 of us who had lunch together.  Where are the pictures you ask?  Well I was so excited I did not get a single picture.  We were too busy enjoying each other's company.  I am so sorry

Holly has always thought of Dimple as "another mother". They were here one evening and us girls were talking and enjoying each other so much.  I happened to look over on the sofa and this is what I saw.  Hehe!!

I laughed and said this is how Mr. P. entertains.  They were all looking at the t.v.  They didn't even know I snapped their picture.  We laughed, shopped, talked, and ate from Sunday until they left for home on Thursday.  I realized when they left I didn't even have a picture of them.  Dimple was sweet enough to send me one so you could put faces with names.

What a difference a week can make.  This Saturday Holly and I were busy helping Mr. P. with a contract job he is doing for the plant where he works.  You might remember he did one this past January.  This year I was able to help,  They cut, and drilled  and I stacked.  We still have many more hours on this job before it is complete.

Today starts another exciting and busy week.  Working on the job in the afternoons, one day a trip to the movies with the girls, { it's been years since I have been to the movies} and on Saturday a really neat birthday party for Darbee Rae.  Afterward our family will be spending the night all together at the cabin.

There are also lots of changes in the future here at the home place.  Mr. P. has promised to make some major changes and I am going to hold him to it.  This is a little tease and to what is to come,

Hope you have stayed with me.  I know this has been a long post, but wanted to get you caught up on life here in the south.  Storms are on the way for Tuesday.  Hoping everyone will be safe, and afterward cooler weather is to arrive.  I am so ready!

Will leave you with a really pretty sunset as we were driving home from supper this past weekend.

.

Hope you all have a great week ahead of you.  Have fun and stay safe.  Until next time....

Such fun happenings and with dear friends. Oh I know what you are saying about the visits being further and further apart at this stage of our lives...but that just makes the visits even more sweeter.
