I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

A Beautiful Day for a Craft Fair

Hi ya'll.  Hope you have had beautiful weather where you are today.  The sun was out, birds were singing, and the smell of honeysuckle welcomed me when I woke this morning.  A slight breeze and a coolness in the air made all conditions  just right for the craft fair we had planned on attending.  It was the Cotton Pickin Festival in Gay, Ga.  It is a huge show with vendors who do such great work.  Prim booths,,,ugh... NO.  There were many that you could probably call "country style" but only ONE booth that was prim and it had very little.  I did get this cute little prim dress there.
I love the old advertisment for coffee on the front.  Hung it in the kitchen.

There were lots of garden items, some prim, but most of which  Mr. P. could make for me so we just admired someone else work.  Yep, that little dress was ALL  I got at the show.  There was nothing like you ladies find in your neck of the woods.  But we had a great time and the food was to die for.

Holly, Darbee Rae and Stacy met us there.  Here is a picture of Darbee Rae in front of the old wagon full of cotton.

There were many yard sales on the route we took to the festival.  Had to check out a few and lucked up at one.  Love this basket.  Can't decide whether to paint it or not.

Also found some wooden spoons that I will age some.  And the wooden wisk.  I have never seen a wooden one.  These will make a cute display.

Was thrilled to find these old thread spools. Some still had the paper label showing the price and the J.P. Coats symbol.  Will show you where I put those in a later post.

And last, this was my special find.  In fact Holly found it for me and let me swoop it away from her.
An ordinary lap desk you might say?  No way....  check out the ticking and pocket on the back.

It's already aged some, but I will give it a good stain bath to prim it up more.  Yep, I will have a primitive lap desk.

This brings to an end a most perfect day.  Spent with Mr. P. , my daughter , granddaughter, and son-in-law.  Hope you all have had a fun Saturday, and that all you Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, Sisters, and Friends have a wonderful Mother's Day doing whatever make you happy and brings a smile to your face.

Thanks for stopping by.  You are all so special to me.  Until next time........
