About Me

My photo
I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

A Hodgepodge of A Post

Well I know,,, I think it's time I stopped long enough to visit with all of you.  I am so thankful that my health has improved and I am having so much fun doing things lately that I haven't been able to do in forever.  Thus,,, my absence from blogging.  I still stop in and read your blogs and try to keep up, but have been sorry about replying and gossiping with you.

I have had so much fun with Darbee Rae.  Yes, I saw her often, but to actually play with her and go to the playhouse was almost impossible.  If I did, I was in pain.  So we have had so much fun.  I have picked her up from school on several occasions and we have had Nana and Darbee time.

Yes, we have played in the playhouse.  This is the kitchen/desk area.  And she has come home with Nana and here she is a photographer,,,, taking pictures of her baby.

Yes, my Ott lite works perfect when playing . We even went on an outing to American Girl Bristo.  Last year when we had reservations, I wasn't able to go as I was too sick.  What a fun day we had.

The food was delicious and Darbee Rae had so much fun. She couldn't wait for me to see the bathroom.  They had a place for her doll to wait while she was busy,  HEHE!

Of course a trip that far away, and we had to do a little Nana and Mama shopping.  We found a wonderful antique mall that had booths.  I will definitely go back there and take the Mister.  Was wonderful.

We couldn't go to the big city and not stop by Ikea and do some day dreaming.  I just loved these kitchens.

Don't you just love these sinks?  And while we are on the subject of kitchens, I have also been doing some rearranging.  The Mister use to say he would never walk around in the house at dark without a light, because he never knew where the furniture would be.  That changed when I was sick.  It has been years since I felt like doing something different.  Until now,,,,,, In the kitchen I replaced the store bought island with the old flour bin that belonged to his grandparents

Love the old chicken feeder with my dishes in it.

See the old chair I have at the end of the island?  It too belonged to Mr. P.'s granddaddy also.  He sat in this chair at their table many years ago.  He even weaved the bottom himself from white oak strips from a tree he cut.

Can you guess where the towel came from?  {smile}  Darbee Rae made everyone in the family one for Easter.  She drew it onto sandpaper and her Mommy helped her then iron it onto dishtowels.  Thought that was really cool.  An end of the year project Holly will be doing with her class at school.

Yes I know,,, this is getting to be a long post.  So I will leave you with some photos of my Easter and Spring décor here at the home place.  I leave mine out until the first of May.  I just love the Spring/Easter season.

This little black high chair was one of my purchases from our trip to TN.

Loved this old lard tin.  It was also a purchase from our trip

This lantern was my favorite purchase.  I had been wanting one for awhile

Sorry, didn't look too good with the flash.  Love the little chair.  That was a purchase from the antique shop when we visited American Girl.

Some of our azaleas Easter weekend.

We hide gifts here for Darbee Rae.  A fun afternoon.

Only Darbee would ask for scissors to open the gifts with.  hehe.  Well I hope you have stayed with me this time.  Sorry, but once I get started, it's hard to stop talking to you.

Mr. P and I wish you a very good weekend and a Blessed Sunday.  Until next time...
