About Me

My photo
I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

Craft Show, A Long Vacation Part 1, And Getting Back to Normal

Good evening friends.  Well, I can only hope you all are still my friends.  I have been gone for so long and we haven't chatted except those of you I am friends with on Facebook.  But if you read the title to my post, then you will know why I haven't been on here to visit with you.

Our 3 day Craft Show was Labor Day weekend.  We had great weather, very little rain, but the temps. were in the 90's and we have no shade except for the tent.  We had a wonderful show.  We had our regular customers there waiting for us at 7:30 in the morning.  Our booth was so full you could barely walk.

But not for long.  These next two photos were all the big items waiting outside to be picked up before we were open an hour.

Soon we had room for more customers to shop.

Darbee Rae tried really hard to keep things straight.

Seeing friends and family during these 3 days are always fun.  Darbee had fun seeing friends also and even had a surprise visit from Santa.  How cool was that?  He bought wooden swords from her and gave her an order for Christmas.

On Tuesday after the show, we left out for a well deserved vacation.  Yes, our destination was Berlin, Ohio.  We stayed overnight in Pigeon Forge, Tn, and drove on up on Wednesday.  We both were so excited because of health issues the last two trips up I was using a walker.  This time I could walk and do so much more.  And to add to the excitement we were going to meet a blogging friend who was there celebrating her anniversary.  If you don't know Cindy already , stop by and visit her on her blog, http://cynthialeedesigns.wordpress.com/.  We met her and her hubby Gary for lunch at the Farmstead Restaurant In Berlin.

Cindy was so sweet and gifted me with a really pretty wrap around bracelet that she had made.  She also had gifts for Holly and Darbee Rae.  It is always so much fun to get to meet a blogger friend. One of the highlights of our trip.

We did lots of riding out in the country and looking at the farms.  So peaceful.  Just love this area.

This was a picture of one of the many school houses we saw on our travels.

Have you ever visited a kraut farm?  Huge pretty green cabbages everywhere.

Look at all the horse poop on the side of the roads.

I have so many more photos to share with you but don't want to keep you too long .  So I will stop here and will share some of the neat places we visited next time we visit.  Hope you all have a wonderful evening and wake to a beautiful and blessed Tuesday.

Until next time.

  2. It was so great getting to meet in person. We went out into the countryside too. We saw kids walking home from school and then saw their teacher walking...then saw the white school house. Might of been the same one you saw. I loved driving out in the countryside looking at the homes with all the pretty flowers and clothes on the line drying. Several buggies past us and they all waved at us as we went by.
