About Me

My photo
I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

Just a quick post tonight . The storms that came our way last night were violent.  Luckily for us, we had no damage other than a huge ponytail plant blowing off the patio table and breaking all to pieces.  The plant was over 30  yrs. old and weighed around 35 pounds.  The pot covered the top of the table . Heard over the news there were 5 or 6 deaths in our state.  God spared our area yet again.  For that I am thankful.

Today I had  to go into town and I always get to meet Holly and Darbee Rae.  Had lunch and then ran into grocery store.  My sweet little granddaughter likes loves going to the grocery store with Nana.
It's amazing how early they learn  how to get you to buy them what they want, right?  Alright all your Nana's,
Grandmothers,  Grannys out there confess.  We are suckers when it comes to our grandchildren. I do things now that I swore I would never do before I got my precious Darbee Rae.

Ages ago while shopping with me , in the bakery section of the grocery store  I bought her a big chocolate chip cookie with sprinkles and icing in the middle.  She never forgot.  Must have been some more good cookie huh?  Today was no different.  When we entered the store she kept telling me we had to check out the bakery and see if they had our cookies.  She gets them everytime we go in and they have them available
Today was her lucky day.  We bought them, but Mommy wouldn't let her have it until after supper.  We were all eating with Aunt KaKe tonight.
Guess that big cookie was pretty good.  It looks like she enjoyed eating it anyway.  Kisses are sweet but one right now would be yummy. A few years from now, she will not be happy with Nana for posting this for blogland to see.  Tonight she was having a sugar overload.  She got to go home with her Mommy.(ha)  Wonder what time she will get in the bed?  The joys of being a Grandmother !

Hope all of you have had  something sweet and yummy happen in you life today.  Thanks for stopping by and visit again soon.

  1. Love that little story! Darbee Rae is a sweetheart and I love that name. I had 3 grandkids today and two nephews. We all made ice cream cupcakes and I let them eat has many as they wanted and then they all got to go home with their mom and dads too. FUNNY! Thanks for sharing, Vicky

  3. I totally agree! There is nothing like Grands! I don't have to do anything much to entertain mine. They just love coming to my house even when I am working. That amazes me. Their parents always asks them if being at my house was more fun than their home and they say yes. My daughter just can't figure it out. There is just something special about a Grandmothers house. I love hearing about your grand!!!!
