About Me

My photo
I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

My Love For Chairs

Hello everyone, Hoping you are all relaxed and rested from a great holiday weekend, and a great July 4th.  We had a quiet morning at home and in the evening gathered with lots of friends and family at Holly and Stacys (and of course Darbee Rae's) for food, friendship, fun, and fireworks.  About 15 minutes before the fireworks were to begin God gave a fireworks show that was for more beautiful than those man made.  We all scattered to cars, carport, or wherever we could get to safety.  Luckily there was a screened porch so most watched from there.  I tooked Darbee Rae and a few friends and we peeped out the bathroom window.  So we got much needed rain, and enjoyed the fireworks also.  Both God made ones and man made ones.

On Saturday while Mr. P and I were roaming around town, we visited the little new store in town where I had gotten a few items a few weeks back called " Grannie Fannie's.  Mr. P. had never gotten to go in there.  I found a few things I will post about later, but also saw 2 chairs that I thought I might be interested in. If you've read all my post and looked at the pictures, you know I love chairs.   I called Holly and told her to go in and check them out and see what she thought. ( you know all ladies need another lady's imput).  She said YES, to come back to town and purchase them.  Well, you know most of us have a hard time making up our minds also.  So, I told her I would ponder the idea in my head, visualize them in the living room, and if still there on Wed. when the  store reopened, I would go get them.

This is where things get interesting.  Earlier in the day I had met up with one of our best customers at our Sept show.  Over the years she has become a good friend and even came up last year and helped us set up our goodies before show time. She was with a friend and another customer of ours.  I gave her my blog address, we talked of the upcoming show and were on our way.

On Sunday after church, I had an  e-mail from her and her friend was in that special shop and recognized Holly and Darbee Rae and knew they were looking at the chairs.  So...... to make a long story short,, the chairs belonged to my friend.  Don't ya think the chairs were meant for me?  Small world, huh?   I was quick to make up my mind as now I even knew who owned the chairs! Explaining how this was fate, and now I knew I just had to have them, Mr. P. just smiled at me and said, yea, yea, yea, whatever!  You know that's a man's imput.  So she was nice enough to meet Mr. P. yesterday for me to get my chairs.  I didn't even have to wait until Wednesday. And thanks Lydia, I love them.  They are great in my living room.
This view is looking in from the kitchen door.  I know now my curtains don't match and I have to change out a few things, but just focus on my new chairs. I also have put in another order for Mr.P.   I want two little foot stools to go in front of them, and have added braided rugs on my list if we get to go back to Ohio in Sept.  Yep, one thing calls for another.

This view is looking straight in from the sunroom.

So there you have it.... an ending to a great holiday weekend for me.  Dimple, sorry my friend the old love seat is not here anymore and your comfy spot is gone.  But don't ya just love my chairs.  Look lots more cozy and primitive.  Will find you another soft and cozy spot when you visit, I promise.
This is a picture in front of the new shop I have fallen in love with.  I borrowed if from their website .

Hoping you all are having a great Tuesday.  Or are you all like me,   having a typical Monday.  Sure seems like one don't it?  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Could chat with all of you all day, but have things to do and places to go.  Until we talk again.

  2. Angela,
I love your new chairs. But isn't it funny how getting a new item seems to lead to more shopping for decorating and tweaking? Happens to me all the time. Gotta change it up once in awhile.
    That's the joy of decorating.
    Have a great day.

  18. I do love those chairs, they would look great in my house too... hint, hint!!! Your comment today was touching Angela, sorry to hear your Mom is in Hospice and that she has never been able to "see" Darbee Ray, we have much to be thankful for and I realize the time is winding down for my Mom and my inlaws. It's so important that the greats get to visit so that they might have some memories. Bittersweet.
