About Me

My photo
I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

Saturday Snapshots

Good evening everyone.  Hoping you have had a great weekend thus far.  It has been so hot and muggy here today, a good day to just stay in and play in the craft room.  I did just that most of the day.

VBS starts on Monday night at church and today was Family Fun Day.  I ventured out to that and went to visit with Mother and then to craft shop to pick up more paint.  I did manage to get a few items finished in the craft room this week and it makes me feel good.  I don't have to remind you, I need photography lessons, and I do not have much wall space in my home to hang so hanging items are just placed randomly to get a picture

Thanks to Dawn and Amy, I combined both their talents and inspirations and came up with these 2 darling items. Thanks ladies for sharing your photos with me.
I love how they turned out.  Got the two old vintage baby slips at Grannie Fannie's last week when I got my new chairs.  Forgot to take a before picture.  I attatched the old baby photos so that they can be removed if someone wanted to put their own baby's picture in.  I want to make one for Darbee Rae.  Holly has one of her little slips.

These amber bottles with "witchy " sayings have always sold out at the craft show. This year I am out of "beer" bottles and this is all I have.  Since no one in our house drinks, and most of  hubby's  buddies drink beer from cans, there is a bottle shortage in the craft room.  Mr. P works for  German company and these were German beer bottles they saved for him.

Can't chose one holiday over another so here is the first Santa I made from the pattern Kim sent a few months back.  Still have to put something else in his arm, just haven't decided what I want to use yet.
Yes, I am keeping Mr. P. busy in the wood work shop also.(smile)  This is a bench that he made from 2 old doors.  It turned out great.  No,,, it's not for me this time but for the craft show.in September. It is NOT  finished as he still has to distress it and remove the shine. It definitely show up lots more shiney than it is. Guess he can't take pictures any better than me, huh?

Well, I had more things to finish and share with you, but Mother Nautre decided to bless us with storms and rain this afternoon, so maybe soon I will have more goodies to share,.

So glad you decided to stop by this weekend and say hello.  Look forward to chatting with you all.  Take care okay, and we will talk again real soon

  13. Love the slip, wish I could send you some bottles! That bench is wonderful. I have seen those and thought that I needed them, but when I show them to JWS he changes the subject. Can anyone tell me why we had to buy those woodworking tools?
