About Me

My photo
I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

A Truly Thankful Thursday

Are you ever awakened early in the morning with the phone ringing and you can feel in your bones a chill,,,, knowing in your heart something is wrong?  I quietly say,"Hello" and the voice on the other side of the reciever says,"Mama I have had a wreck, we're okay, got to go.".  What does a Mother do?? My heart is racing, I jump out of bed, call Mr. P and tell him to go find where she is.  He is on his way to work.  I immediately start getting dressed as any mother would do. That is my baby and my grandbaby.  Phone rings again, cops on the way, 9l1 has been called and she gives me her location.  Call hubby back.  I am ready to go out the door and Mr. P calls ... assures me they are okay but in ambulance on the way to ER to be checked out.  I get there just about the time they arrive.   Thank God for being in that car with my two girls.  I prayed and thanked him all the way to the hospital.  Holly's hubby was there with them when I got there.  I finally got to go back and see for myself, and they were okay.  Darbee Rae was a trooper.  Never cried a tear.  They were in the same room and she was sitting there  like an adult.  Holly was pretty upset.  Her BP was very high but they think from the excitement.  She had to have Xrays on her chest as the air bag opened.  Darbee had a cut from the seat belt, but they are fine.  Darbee wanted the ambulance to take her home, she didn't want to ride with me.  She enjoyed the ride I think. The car on the other hand was not so lucky.  The men think it will be totaled.  And to make matters worse, the car that cut into her lane and caused the accident didn't even stop.  It forced her off the road and she hit 2 cement centers with poles on them.  There was an eye witness that stayed and talked to the police and his name was given to the insurance company.
The car can be replaced.  And tonight I am so thankful that my girls were spared any serious injuries.  They are really sore and bummed up, but are home and fine.  Yes, I am a thankful Mama and Nana tonight.  God is good.  Hope you have all had a great day, and remember there is always always something to be thankful for.  Until next time.

  3. Oh My, what a scare you had. Can't believe the person who caused the accident just went on. People like that don't need to be on the road. Glad they weren't seriously hurt. Still scary though.

  4. You summed it up in three words...God IS good! Many years ago I was run off the road by a driver who never stopped as my car rolled end over end along the side of the highway. I bumped my head and sprained my thumb..car totaled, but God was good to me as well. Hug those gals extra tight tonight, Mama!

  7. Angela, so thankful your girls are just shaken, not hurt. I bet the reason Darbee Rae was so calm, her Mother was an example in front of her. Yes, god is very good.
