About Me

My photo
I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

A Very Sincere Thank You and My Week In Pictures

Hello my dear blogging friends.  I want to send my sincere thanks to all of you who e-mailed me this week and voiced your concern in my absence from blogland.  It really touched my heart that so many of you took the time from your busy daily lives to show concern for me , Holly and Darbee Rae. Although our paths may never cross and I may never meet you in person, you all have become such an important part of my life.  Meeting all of you thru my blog has been one of the best experiences I have had in my life.  And at the most perfect time. So just because we haven't met let me tell  you I feel as close to you as I do some of my friends I have known for many years.  You are the kindest, most caring, and generous folks I have ever known.  Okay all that said,  I will try and catch you up on my stressful week.

Last Saturday was a fun day.  Mr. P , Holly, Darbee Rae and I went to a craft show in a neighboring town.  It was a little cooler and we got started early and had a fun day. And guess what?  There was actually one primitive booth.  Holly and I spotted it  way up the midway.   I got a crow make do and she got a few pumpkins.  Most of the items was Halloween and I wanted something to leave out all the time.  But,,, we were so excited to find some prims.

On Sunday after services we made our regurlar trip to visit Mother at the nursing home.  Really, I thought Mother's time had come.  Unresponsive, just laying there and she looked so pitiful.  A call to Hospice and they assured us this was normal for her condition.  I know in my heart she will never be better, and I think I am prepared for whatever, but is one ever really prepared?  Thus, my heart has not been into posting this week.  She did perk up a bit and although she does not make sense when she speaks, she has begun to speak some, but her eating is declining fast.  Just keep us in your prayers.

Tuesday I did go with the WMU ladies group from our church for lunch at the Historic Bullouck House in Warms Springs, Ga.  Warm Springs is the home of The Little White House that belonged to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. We enjoyed a great lunch and enjoyed a few hours shopping.

Today I went with Holly and Darbee Rae shopping, had lunch in the mall and visited a few junk shops.  Didn't find many goodies at all.

I have not forgotten about the goodies I got in Ohio.  Most I want to show when I do my fall decorating , but this past week, I just could not bring out the decorations and get started.  I did buy some mums on Friday so hopefully I will have pictures to share  early in the week.  Mr. P. did a little something for me that I saw while we were gone today.  It will be part of my porch decor.  Can't wait to share it with you ... so simple.

I have enjoyed visiting all of your blogs and seeing all the beautiful prim  Fall decor you have been posting. I so want to get started with mine. So praying for a better week starting tomorrow.

So in closing, Happy Fall to all of you ( a day late) and I am asking you to be patient if I am not around so much in the next few weeks.  Hopefully I will be, but who knows.  Nothing last forever and  all my sadness and grief will end some day  in the future.  Mother will soon be at rest and peace again.  I am leaving you with a few pictures of Darbee Rae at the Craft fair.  Looks like fall has arrived in Ga, huh?

A few photos of the ladies at our lunch on Tuesday.

Of course Darbee Rae is our youngest member.  She feels she is just as grown as the rest of us ladies and they all love her to death.  Love this picture.  This was the official greeters at the resturant.  Darbee Rae called the lady on  the right " Nana".  Haven't figured out if that was paying me a compliment or not.  What do you think?  *giggle*

Have I introduced you to Cuddles?  Well Cuddles is Darbee Rae's shadow.  And do ya know why?  When Holly was trying to take the pacifier away from her, she took her to" Build a Bear" and they put the pappys in Cuddles stomach.  That was the end to the dreadful thing in her mouth, but the attatchement to Cuddles well.... you can imagine.  Today Cuddles is sporting a new outfit. Holly was hoping for a Halloween outfit, but Cuddles and Darbee Rae had a different outfit in mind.  Even got new pink hairbows for Cuddles. Darbee Rae has new red shoes that sparkle, too.

Okay, now we are all caught up and even though it has been a very emotional week, it's a week that I am alive, I can still smile, and I have so much in my life to be thankful for.  I so hope each and everyone of you can say the same thing.  Until next  time, I love all you guys and will talk to ya soon........

  1. Hi Angela,
I was just thinking about you today and wondering why there were no pic/posts of Darbee Rae!!!! I noticed those sparkly red shoes before I read the paragraph!!!!! Monica has a pair too!!!! That's a good idea with the pacifer, except Monica was/is a thumb sucker and has a baby dress that she calls "lovey" that she goes to sleep with!!!! Whenever she's tired, that thumb goes in her mouth!!!!
Hugs and prayers go with you as you go through another part of life.

    Hugs,

    Lois

  2. So good to hear from you Angela - and so sorry your week was so emotionally-laden. Please know that you - and your dear mother - are in my prayers....It is so difficult to say good byes - there are never good ones if they are to someone you love - they are either too short or too long, but never just right. Your Darbee is a spot of sunshine though - I so love that last photo of her and Cuddles - and what a wonderful idea of putting her nuk in his tummy....What a treasure....Wishing you a blessing-filled week ahead, friend - Sending many hugs & smiles ~ Robin

  7. Angela, I'm very sorry you have had such a week, we pray for you.

I'm very thankful that you have that little Pixie to brighten your days, and bring comfort to you.

God bless you and keep you.

Hope to see your photos soon. I have done no decorating, just have been cleaning out my Son's clothes a bit at a time. That seems enough "work" for now, letting him go, and be a man at college. Am so enjoying the outside times now though. I had a wonderful walk along the river this morning. Autumn is such a gift. I hope yours lifts your spirit and blesses you with peace.

  9. So sorry to hear that Mom is fading. I know it will be a difficult passing but there will be a peace to it, as well. My prayers and thoughts are with you both. You have been blessed with Darbee. She can always make you smile. :)I remember when Mallory was very small. I always took her with me to water aerobics with my 'old ladies' class. She entertained the ladies and she knew it was her place to be. That's when she learned to swim and she is a fish today! Course she is almost 17, but those memories are burned into my mind. Grands are such a blessing! Mallory had 'Dorothy' shoes, too! :)
    Warmest autumn blessings,

  10. Hi Angela,
Wishing you a better week ahead...although you had a few good days I wish you didn't have to be so stressed and I pray for your mother...it's not easy for us to watch them leave us no matter how much we prepare our mind...our hearts still hurt.
Love your sweet little Darbee Rae and I had to giggle at the ladies to her left and right...she looks like she had the giggles too.

  15. Hardly ever any prims around here either, so the very few prims are easy to spot a long ways off. I know what you mean about that!

Looks like you all, well at least Darbee Rae, had a grand time this past weekend.

So sorry about your mother, I know it's hard when they are in that stage. I will be lifting you all up in prayer. Bless you friend.
