A Wonderful Prim Shop..... Vacation Part 2

Thank Goodness today has been a calm one after Holly's accident yesterday.  Thank all of you for your concern.  She was bummed up and sore this morning but was able to go back to school. All her kiddos were so sweet as they knew she had been in an accident.

While we were in Ohio, we made the short trip to  Millersburg and visited  The Pioneer Loft. Thanks Betty  http://bettyjcrowe-throughmybackdoor.blogspot.com/ for making me aware of this shop.    I was so impressed as it was the neatest prim and antique store.  I don't know about you guys, but I love to walk into a store and have the shopkeeper acknowledge you are in the room.  Well, Denise was one of the nicest ladies I have ever met.  Friendly was not the word . She was such a sweetheart.  I got several goodies from her shop.  She was so kind and even tho she was very busy she took the time to stop for a picture for me to share on my blog.  Here is Denise and her official greeter Precious.

If you are ever in the Millersburg, Ohio please stop in and browse her wonderful shop.  You can visit her blog also. http://pioneerloft.blogspot.com/

Most of the shops we visited would not let you take pictures, but most of the ladies were very nice.  Would have loved to got pictures of each one so that I could share with you.

Teresa  http://www.deppenhomestead1862.blogspot.com/ was also very helpful and informative as she knows the area quite well.  Thanks Teresa for all the info you provided.  Thanks to her Mr. P. got to visit the largest  Lumber/hardware store he had ever seen; Keim Lumber.  That thing was so nice and  had two stories.  Luckily for me it had a very nice cafe inside where I could sit and wait.

See how long it is to the left, well there was just that much more building to the right  out of sight of my camera.  A handyman's paradise. If I can remember correctly it was in a little town called Charm.

Now this place, I don't even remember the name of it.  I could politely rename it the junk yard and shop.  They had a little of everything.  That's my Mr. P (Picker) looking thru all that stuff. I went in the store and immediately came out.  Not for me.  I'm sure they had anything you wanted if you could ramble thru and find it.  A true junk shop, and their prices were unreal.... so expensive.  I took this picture from my seat in the car.  I needed a hot bath when I got out of there.  Mr. P laughed at me.  Guess he got some shopping in on this trip also.

Teresa suggested we try the trail bolgona and thank you so much Teresa.  Mr. P and I fell in love with the taste of it.  Soooo Good.  And the little store that sold it was so quaint and wonderful.  So old fashioned.

They had a little bar / counter  like an old soda shop and they would fix you a bolgna and cheese sandwich.  We bought ice there and Trail Bologna made the trip back to Georgia with us.

This sliced with the Amish fresh cheese we also brought home on crackers,,,,, yummy.

This was also a fun place to visit.  They had produce, all varities of apples, but their fresh made cider was wonderful.  It was fresh and not pasturized so we could not bring it home.

Loved the covered bridge.  Although not a real old one, it fit in so well with its surroundings.

This was Mr. P's favorite antique mall.  We visited there on two different occassions and he got goodies on both trips.  See the closed sign... well he was still in the store shopping as they were closing.  Who said men don't like to shop???

Okay folks that's about it for this time.  Hope you have enjoyed the photos as much as I have sharing them with you.  I promise to show my goodies just as soon as I get them displayed.  Hope you all have a fun Saturday planned and are enjoying the cooler temperatures.  Have a safe and happy weekend.  Sending you all Smiles and Hugs... Until next time......

  2. I'm glad to hear your day was calmer today & that Holly was still feelin ok. Looks like you had a really good trip ~ lots of interesting places. I haven't been in a true "junk" store in forever! We used to stop in one every summer on the way to Kentucky & my grandma & mom would dig around for what seemed like hours! I didn't appreciate the "junk" back then! lol It wasn't as crowded as the outside of that one you visited looked though! Hope you have a great weekend!

  13. What a fun trip! I'm in awe of that lumber store, I have never seen one that huge. I just know I would lose my dad in there and never find him again, lol. Those junky stores are my kind of stores... but only if the price is right. If it's expensive then it's sure not worth the digging! Glad you had a great time!

  14. Hi Angela, I'm so glad your daughter and granddaughter are okay. I am shocked that the person that caused all this didn't stop! Luckily they had the eyewitness that stayed. Wishing them a speedy recovery.

It looks like you had a good time in Ohio. I was just there last week!! That's where I get all my fabric...Charm, OH and at the Country Cupboard in Berlin, OH. I saw you had their picture posted. Don't you just love that place?? Such inspiration and so many kind people working there. I'm glad you had a good time.

    Have a great week!
    Warm hugs,
    ~ Jenn
