About Me

My photo
I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

A Wonderful Birthday with Family and Friends

Hi everyone.  Just thought I would drop in and share my day with all of you.  Yes, today I finally reached the age I thought I already was all year. So do I feel a year older, No way.  I am just starting my year over.  Thank God I am not as old as I had thought.  They say loss of memory is a sign of getting old , huh???

Actually my birthday celebration started last Friday.  Holly surprised me with a girlie afternoon at the nail salon.  Working so hard for my craft show that was in Sept. I had let my nails go.  You girls know how hard it is to keep pretty nails with all that staining, painting, sanding and sewing for a show.  So ...off the three of us went to get all prettied up.  Let me tell you, Darbee Rae loves getting her nails and feet done.  She is like a pro and they know her there already.

Later that evening we went out to eat at a popular Bar-b-Que Resturant.  A fun evening.  On Sunday after church service Mr. P and I drove a good many miles to a huge craft show.  It was a good show,,, did I find lots of prims?  No, didn't get anything worth sharing with you.  But enjoyed the show anyway.  Just good to get away.
Yesterday Holly and Darbee came out and brought our supper.  Stacy had to work late so we enjoyed them for the evening.  And that brings us to today.  At 6:15 this morning the phone rang, and Darbee Rae started my day off right by singing "Happy Birthday Nana".  She sure was chipper so early in the morning.
A while later I got a call from a long time friend in TN, who called to say Happy Birthday.  I had recieved a great gift in the mail from her earlier in the week.

Don't you just love this fall table runner.  Love the pumpkins on the ends.

.

Look at the little ball. It's like you buy at the $ Tree and has been painted in candy corn colors.  Good idea.  Just add hanger and a tiny leaf.  Would be cute to paint orange for pumpkin.  Looks cute on my tree.  You will see for yourself a bit later.  Thanks Dimple for all my goodies, but for our long time friendship as well.

Holly not only treated me to an afternoon at the nail salon, she gave me body wash, body spray and lotion from Bath and Body.  It sure does smell good, too.  Thanks Holly for making all my days I spend with you and Darbee special.   Darbee had her own gift for me and she was so excited for me to open it.

I was just as excited as Darbee Rae.  She did really good.  Think she knows her Nana's taste pretty well.  Love the prim stocking.  Might just have to make some of these for the show next year.  Thanks Darbee Rae . Nana loves you.

And this afternoon was spent with  my long, long time friends and family.  Yes, that's me with Holly and Darbee Rae.  Look quick, remember me, because I HATE to have my picture made.  Might be the last one you see of me. (giggle) I was meeting friends for lunch which has been a tradition for years on each of our birthdays, and was plesantly surprised to find Holly and Darbee Rae had taken half a day from school just to come to the party.  You know these girlies are not going to miss out on a party! (wink)  We met at our favorite wing place because hot wings are a favorite of mine .  Just look at the food

Now don't go thinking that's a heart attack waiting to happen.  I didn't eat all that food.  Part of it came home for the Mister.  Sure didn't want to cook him supper after all this food. And like the food wasn't enough, my wonderful friends brought these for dessert. Thanks to each and every one of you.  You all know how much I treasure our friendships and love spending time and making memories with all of you.

And this is my new toy from Mr. P.  Holly is so happy I now have a decent camera.  I just have to learn all about it and how to use it.  I have a problem just taking a normal picture.  It has a menu and all kinds of gadgets.  But I am so proud of my camera.  Thanks Mr. P .  Love ya.

Don't you think all these pictures make for a wonderful birthday??  Well that's not quite all.  Last week Miss Linda Claus struck my mailbox.  We all know Linda is an angel.  She gifted me with this very special pillow. Love the words on it.  Fit right in with my life right now.

And there was a neat prim dish cloth/towel.  Love the ticking patch on it.  I have the perfect spot for it.

Thanks so much Linda.  I cherish our friendship thru blogger. You are a very special lady to us all.
Also got lots of cards and e-mails from lots of friends.  Lil Raggedy Angie sent a sweet card last week just to let me know she was thinking of me.  Thanks Angie.  You are a doll.  Shirlee not only sent a gift last week(previous post) but sent wishes my way today also.  Thank you Shirlee for a great friendship . ALL of you are so special to me just by visiting and leaving your comments.  You make everyday a special day in my life.  Thanks everyone . Love you all. Until next time.........

  3. Happiest of birthdays to you dear Angela....Sorry I somehow missed out on getting a card in the mail or cyber wishes sent...But that's the convoluted life of this crow - don't even get my family's days remembered half the time. Too funny, tho - my hubby's b-day was Sunday and he also was thinking (and telling everyone!) he was going to be a year older than he really was... Yikes.... Hope I don't err that way! Looks like you had some wonderful times - and wonderful gifts. You're beautiful Angela - and I see you in Holly and in Miss Darbee Rae. What blessings....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

  11. Happy Birthday Angela, LOL on your comment about catching up with your real age. A few years back I thought I was a year older than actually was, was nice to start the year over again. It was Mr B's fault cause he got his age wrong and I just subtracted 3 years and that was my age, I think it was a joke that got out of hand and lasted the whole year,LOL.
Lots of fun Birthday celebrations going on, precious time spent with loved ones is the best.
    Hugs to Ya
