Apple Pie and A Gift from a Special Sister-in-Law

Hi everybody, Just thought I would drop in tonight and let all you who think I over work Mr. P know, I was a very good housewife today ( pat me on the back)  I was able to stay home all day as my cousin went to the nursing home for me.  One full day at home without having to go out sure does help rest this old soul.  Altho there was no rest for the weary.  I got a Santa completed and more crafts started, fixed Mr. P. a good home cooked meal, and tonight before he came in from the wood work shop, I made him an apple pie with apples from our tree.
It's just hot out of the oven, the coffee is on, so come on over while its cooling and we will share a piece with you. Now Mr. P. doesn't want ice cream, but will be glad to add a scoop to yours. So see ladies, I am good to him, (he, he) but I have to admit I found another great item I want him to make for me today.  This one might just call for a big cake...

I have a wonderful sister-in-law that I am very close to.  Although she and her family live in another town, they are not too far away and we try to get together at lease once a month and go out to eat and spend time together. Maudie, Leonard, and their son Justin came to Holly's for fireworks on the 4th.  She told me when I walked in there was some goodies for me,

Don't we all love surprises?  Maudie has ALWAYS brought Darbee Rae a bag of goodies everytime we get together and more times than not something for Holly and myself.  She is such a giving person. I couldn't wait to open the box.

Can you guess the first thing I grabbed?  She had read on my blog that I had started collecting whisk brooms.  I was thrilled.  This is what I found in the box
There was a pair of old vintage gloves, my whisk broom, old wooden spoon and fork
An old vintage sewing basket......
It was full of old vintage spool, pattern, buttons, zippers, even some old dated sales reciepts and a set of old keys.  I had so much fun going thru all of it.
And last but not least there was a few new items also.  Love the little baskets and napkins.  Was always fun to get burger and fries out of those at a resturant. Now we have our own.  The Bath and Body hand soap so cute for the hoiday and last but very  much appreciated was coffee for staining. Did I tell you how thoughtful she is?  None of my family nor close friends here share  my love of old and prim items.  But even tho she doesn't decorate in that style, Maudie thinks of me and knows what I like.   Thank you so much for my goodies.  I love them all.  It was like Christmas instead of the 4th of July.

Okay you guys, the pie is cooled and I am going to have myself as well as Mr. P a big ole slice.  Hoping you have all had an "apple pie" kind of day.   A happy blogger bye bye.........
