I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures in crafting, shopping, and enjoying life thru the eyes of my darling grand daughter.

Mr. P. . A Jack Of All Trades

A Southern, Sunny, Steamy Hot day to all of you my friends.  I really didn't think I would have much to post about today but it is turning out to be one more great day.  Yep, sweaty and all!!

Mr. P and I have a pretty normal routine for our Saturday and Sundays,,,, every weekend.  He goes to a local fast food joint, brings home biscuits while I put on coffee and Check in with all of you.  Then we sit and have a quiet time as he reads the morning paper and I am still talking to you guys.  But not this morning, We actually got up, and he treated me to a BIG breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  Then we headed to town to shop around the square. Monthly they have a Market Day.  Altho there are never prims, sometime we find a little.  Not today.  But we did venture into a shop that I like to visit often and found a few little redo's.  More  about them later.  Also am pondering a few other items I would love to have.  Met  Holly and Darbee and enjoyed looking around  with them.

As soon as we got home, Mr. P. was off to his woodworking shop and finished up a project I had been waiting for him to do for me.   He is such as sweety.  Remember the old box in the last post?  I think he is really spoiling me, huh?  Or maybe he's trying to be good so I will make him his favorite peach cobbler.. well he is sure on the right track.....

A few weeks ago, a lady from our church said her daughter had an antique rocking chair frame, and was having a sale.  She thought about us and I went by before the sale to look at it.  This is what I saw

YES! I loved it the minute I laid eyes on it.  Don't you just love it that folks think about you when they have something old that they think is junk? (ha)  My mind was churning even before I got it home.  I knew just what my Mister could make for me.    And I have to say , he did a great job.
Yea, I did contribute a little, I stitched the stitchery.  Just think MY stitchery made the chair, don't you?  Let's not give Mr. P. all the credit. For right now it will greet you at the back door on my carport.  This winter, I will bring it inside,,,,,, where??? A few months to worry about that.
The stitchery goes so well with my old rocker.  Loved the saying

Well folks that's it for today.  Hoping you are all having a great day.  Remember to stop and reflect on what Independence Day really means to all of us in the great United States of America, and pause and give thanks and say a prayer for all the men and women who so bravely make these good days possible for our country.

Stay safe, cool, and have a great holiday whatever you choose to do.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting.  Luv ya all.... Until next time.......

  7. Beautiful rocker Angela ... I love the way it turned out! And oh, Cracker Barrel! Be still my heart! I'm not much for a CB breakfast (John always gets those) but their chicken & dumplings have GOT to be the food of the angels : ) I will have to stop my diet 10 pounds under what my doctor wants me to weigh just so I can celebrate with a chicken & dumpings fest : ) Have a wonderful 4th! Blessings, Shirlee

How cool!! You - and your Mr. P, absolutely rock (no pun truly intended!!) Hope the stitchery doesn't get too weathered by your sun.....it's far too lovely for that! 13. Angela, I am seriously loving that chair. I, too, see things for what they can be instead of what they are. Mr. P definitely deserves a peach cobbler and with ice cream!

  14. Love the rocker Angela. What a find that was! Bob and I met some older folks yesterday that practically gave their stuff away to us as their children told them if they did not, then they would just rent a dumpster and throw it all away..how sad that would be. Take care, and send some peach cobbler up our way. I do so miss my aunts Georgia peach cobbler and her pecan pie. take care, Janice ( prims by the water)
