I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 42 wonderful years. I have been blessed with one daughter who is grown and gone! She and her hubby have blessed us with a precious grandchild, Darbee Rae. She is eight years old and the sunshine in our days. I have always been a stay at home maid, cook, doctor, babysitter, taxi, wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy crafting. My interests include primitives, vintage and colonial styles. I love decorating my home. I enjoy traveling with my hubby and friends, reading, and trying different recipes. I am a Christian and enjoy activities within my church. Whole Lotta Love... Day 2

Good morning Friends, the coldest of days thus far greeted us this morning.  Love it!! Sun is shining brightly and the temps. will rise during the day.  Mr. P is off early this morning to pick up a load of "horse dookey" to spread on the garden spot. Yuk!! Yes, that man is like many of you.  Already going through garden catalogs and making plans for Spring.  It is quite here at the home place.

As I started to pick up and straighten a bit, I decided to show you a few pictures of LOVE in keeping with day 2 of Cindi's Whole Lotta Love theme.  Most of us try really hard { now come on admit it} to have the area around where we take pictures for our blog tidy and clutter free.  But sometime it's the little things we edit out of a picture that help to make a house a home.  The clutter shows how we live and what we enjoy in our homes.  If we live in them, then how can they be magazine perfect at all times.?

If you came to the door unannounced on any given evening, then this would probably be the first thing you would notice as being "out of place"

One of many of Mr. P's caps.  Yes, he is a cap man.  Hardly ever see him without one on.  Yes, we have a cabinet by the front door for coats, caps, etc. but it is much more convenient to throw it over the back of the chair. Does this make me mad?  No,,,, quite the opposite.  By seeing the cap resting on it's chair, I know my hubby is home and safe from a hard day at work.

As we walk on into the great room, well there is more clutter.  My hubby loves reading his paper in the evening.  Most evenings as we start to bed this is where the paper ends up. Notice on the sofa, see the little bit of paper showing.  Well Mr. P. thinks he has it hidden.  That is today's paper he hasn't had time to read yet.  Yes, halfway under the arm of the sofa and the cushion.  Cute, huh?

Back through the kitchen as you would start to leave, or if we got coffee from the coffee station, you would see this.

Mr. P's coffee cup and water glass.  Now both are special.  A "gotta have" coffee cup and an old glass that some kind of snuff use to be bought in.  Yep, that water glass is the perfect size and texture. And are getting pretty hard for me to find.  I am so clumsy and have broken quite a few so I try to keep a couple extra on hand when I can find them.  Especially on the weekends and when Mr. P has a day off, these never find their home in the cabinet.  They are in constant use.

Oh yes, I have my clutter scattered around in the evenings also.  The coffee table is usually covered in some hand stitching that I am working on or magazines that I am searching through. We live in our home.  That is what a home is for.

Makes one think, what if there was a day when the hat didn't come home, there was no one sitting beside me on the sofa reading a paper, or I never had to wash but my own coffee cup?  YES, I love all the little things , the clutter in my home.  There is a  Whole Lotta Love inside the walls, and I am in love with it.

Until tomorrow.

  1. Love this! The cap brought tears to my eyes as Curtis always had a couple hanging on chair posts. Thanks for the reminder, and those are some of the things that missed most, when they are no longer there.

  6. Holy Geesh. If you came to my house unannounced, you would probably think we were just robbed by the state it's usually in;) Ha ha. My kids can do a number on if faster than you can blink an eye. The clutter is a sign that people in your home are enjoying their time there. I am glad to see that your house is a home and that those that live there love it. Thanks for the clutter!!! -Steph-

  12. Hi Angela, I just had this conversation with my hubby this morning. I said ---"You never see any of the blog girls with all this junk around that we have!" So off I went to make my house at least presentable! But I know you are right...our house, too is basically lived in . And in this house is most importantly - A WHOLE LOT OF LOVE AND GOD IS WITH US ALL THE WAY!

Wonderful post, Angela. I've got it all straight now....after reading your lovely post! LOL! Thank you!

Susannah PS - Love your snowmen.
